Anne-Marie Heuchan
Anne Marie Heuchan is a Paediatrician specialising in the care of the newborn. Anne Marie works exclusively with babies born prematurely or with complex problems requiring the specialist medical and surgical care provided at the Royal Hospital for Children.
Patients are referred from across Scotland and often from other parts of the UK. Anne Marie is actively engaged in research and teaching and is a speaker at national and international meetings.
In 2013, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity provided £250,000 towards the upgrading and extension of neonatal monitoring in Ward 2B, the specialist Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Yorkhill Hospital.
The grant has allowed Anne Marie and her team to install state of the art monitoring and integrated bedside computers across all 16 intensive care and high dependency cots, all of which migrated to the new children's hospital when it opened in 2015.
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has also provided funding for an ultrasound scanner and specialist incubators to help care for babies in the unit.
Anne Marie is honoured to be an Ambassador for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.
