Facebay Fundraising raises £1500 for Yorkhill
Here is Irene McDonald handing over a cheque for £1,500 to charity representative, Kim Doherty.
Irene and Ian run a 'Facebay Fundraising' page. Facebay Fundraising was set up in April 2012 after visiting local charity shops and seeing how inflated prices could be in high street charity shops. They had previously set up a Facebay group to give away unwanted items and realised that they could also help charities while helping people that did not have a lot of money, and so Facebay Fundraising was born! It involves members of the public donating unwanted items such as furniture, clothes etc. Facebay then sell this off, and donate the money to a charity of their choice. Yorkhill Children's Charity has only recently been added to Facebay in the past two months, and already £1500 has been raised. Local companies also support Facebay Fundraising - Storage Vault in Paisley is the official sponsor, and has donated storage units to help store bulk items. AK Van Rentals also provide use of a van whenever this is needed. To find out more please visit - https://www.facebook.com/groups/FacebayFundraising/
We'd like to say a massive thank you to Ian, Irene and to everyone involved in Facebay Fundraising. It is a great idea and we are so grateful for everyone's generosity! Thank you!
