RAPID-19 Research Trial
Our volunteers gave their time to support with the successful delivery of a crucial COVID-19 research project
The RAPID-19 study focused on children's immunity to coronavirus and aimed to find out whether children of healthcare workers had developed immunity to the virus from potential exposure via their parents.
More than 220 'Covid Warriors' from across the West of Scotland attended the children's hospital to take part in the first stage of the trial. Volunteers from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity helped to look after them and their families during the study weekends.
"The support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity volunteers has meant that we’ve been able to run tests with 220 children over two days which is phenomenal."

Children and young people each received a charity-funded “COVID Warrior” Certificate and age-appropriate activity packs to celebrate their involvement in the important trial too.
