Former Chief Executive, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau

Scott previously led Glasgow City Marketing Bureau from its beginnings in 2005, and it has since brought in more than £1billion in conferences and congresses to Glasgow. GCMB bids and wins major events such as MTV European Music Awards, BBC Radio One Big Weekend and The Turner Prize. Scott was part of the Bid Team in Colombo that led to the award for Glasgow of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. GCMB is behind the city brand – People Make Glasgow – and behind GCMB are a team of 60 passionate people making it happen. 

GCMB has won 18 awards since 2005 including  Best International Marketing Award in 2006 and 2011, Best UK Convention Bureau for the past seven years, and it was the winner of Scotland's Best Place to Work in 2013. 

Scott is also a Council Director of the Board of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and a  Business Fellow at the Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde. 

Scott has provided input on Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity's marketing and communications strategy. He has also organised a masterclass on pitching for the Fundraising Team and he regularly supports the charity with strategic networking opportunities.

Scott says: “I am proud to be an Ambassador of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.  From the moment I was approached, I knew I wanted to be an active part of the Ambassador programme as the charity does such important work supporting the work at the children's hospital, as well as all the families and patients who find themselves needing it.”
