Marathon Runner Graham raises Big in the Big Apple
Super supporter Graham has raised over £10,000 for The Ian Donald Centre for Fetal Medicine supported through Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity by running the New York Marathon in memory of his son Logan.
'My wife, Natalie, and I were patients at the Glasgow unit back in October. Our twin pregnancy was affected by growth restriction syndrome and we were treated by Dr Janice Gibson.'
'The Ian Donald Centre for Fetal Medicine supported through Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity were fundamental in helping my wife and I through an incredibly difficult twin pregnancy.'
'Sadly we lost one of the twins, little Logan, but their expertise helped save the life of our beautiful baby, Stirling.'
'For that we as a family will always be truly grateful.'
'I wanted to run this marathon as a mark of respect for our lost twin Logan and to cement his memory for our family and especially Stirling as he grows up.'

'It really wasn’t the ideal time to do a marathon as we have just had a baby, are developing a new house, and are trying to build a new business after Covid.'
'However, the sadness of losing one of our twins, Logan, during an incredibly difficult pregnancy at 18 weeks motivated me to do it.'
'Training for the marathon also helped me to cope better emotionally with our loss which I am very thankful for.'

'It was an amazing experience and the crowds who supported all the runners along the way were brilliant. What an atmosphere!'
'I would like to thank all the donors who have helped me raise a sizeable donation for The Ian Donald Centre for Fetal Medicine.'
