John & Janet McIntyre
John and Janet McIntyre from Callander are delighted to be Family Ambassadors for the Charity. The family set up the Chloe McIntyre Memorial Fund with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and have gone on to raise over £60,000 in memory of their daughter Chloe, who they sadly lost to a heart condition at just six weeks old.
The McIntyre's fundraising has helped to fund a bespoke sensory room with specialised equipment that helps to provide stimulation and relaxation for children with a range of complex needs and is used by speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational and play therapists.
John, Janet and their two sons JJ and Calvin have organised a wide range of fundraising events, with the support of their local community. They told us:
"We are so proud to have recently become Family Ambassadors for the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. We have been supporting the Charity over the last 7 years now and look forward to helping as much as we can for many more years to keep the amazing work they do for the babies and children that are looked after at Scotland's largest children's hospital.
"The care that the babies and children receive in the hospital is second to none and would not be possible without the funding for equipment, research and family support that the charity provides. We have experienced this first hand ourselves and we want to work hard to ensure every child and family get the same support and help we did."
