Joanne Stirling
I have been in this post for 11 years having completed my higher specialist training in Glasgow prior to that. I have been fortunate to work in many other paediatric hospitals both in the UK and overseas in the earlier part of my training.
Working in emergency medicine is challenging but can also be very rewarding. I have been and continue to be committed to delivering the highest quality of care to children and their families during often stressful times.
I know that even small things can make a patient’s journey better from the non-clinical facilities right through to the environment in which care is provided. I am lucky enough to have developed close links with the other departments in the hospital having trained with many of the specialists based here. This gives me a unique insight into the challenges faced by hospital teams.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity to help to continue to valuable work done and to develop and improve children’s care in this facility and elsewhere.
