Professor Brenda Gibson
Professor Gibson is a Paediatric Haematologist at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow with major interests in paediatric leukaemias and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
She was the co-ordinator of the paediatric arm of MRC AML 12 and 15 trials and is the Chief Investigator of the current Paediatric AML trial, Mye Child 01. She has a research interest in the biological differences in adult and paediatric AML and is an active member of a number of international groups , including the EBMT Paediatric Diseases Working Party and I-BFM AML Steering Committee and advises the EMA Paediatric Committee on Medicines for Children.
Professor Gibson is a former President of the British Society for Haematology and founder member of its Paediatric Haematology Forum. She has contributed to several textbooks, has over 180 publications in peer reviewed articles and has presented at over 90 major national and international meetings. She regularly peer reviews articles for a variety of haematology journals, abstracts for international conferences and grant applications for funding organisations.
